English language challenge...

I want to start saying that in my opinion, English is very important, because is a language that is expanding worldwide

I think that learn English at university is so relevant in the learning from day to day, because we have to read, analyze, create papers in this language, so is very important have knowledge above English, maybe if in a future we have to go to a business journey, the most probably thing is that we will have to talk in English with the other persons or simply we will have to understand a dialogue, a conversation or an scientific explanation in English.

Use and write blogs, personally, I have been served a lot, because with this I learnt to write my ideas and thoughts and more than that, I learnt to express my ideas and form good connections between the words and sentences.

I think that I have to improve even more, the way that I talk in general, I have to continue learning how to form good phrases and a good communication, and with this, I have to continue learning too the pronunciation of the words, a good pronunciation, with the intonation and rhythm.

When I lived in Spain,  I used to travel a lot, so the English was very important for me, since this way I could talk and ask all my questions and at the same time I could get all the answers that I expected. Now, here I only use the English in classes at the university with this blogs, in the theoretical classes and I can teach what I know to my sisters when they need help.

As a conclusion, I can say that any Language is important for a good communication, but in my case the English is fundamental because It helps me to continue growing as a professional

Changes to my study programme...

Since we were children, we always wanted to go to university, have a good job and have the enough money to live good and do the things that we always dream. But when we finally entered to study in the university we realize that is not like we think.

You can notice that we need a lot of changes because is not all nice or not all is well planned. In my case, I think that maybe in the first years we need more subjects like "The pharmaceutical chemist and his action" that introduce us to our future profession, why we need this? Because just this way we can really know if the career is for us.  

On time issues, I think is good in compare to other careers in Chile, but 5 or 6 years in compare to another countries is a lot, for example in Spain you just have to study 4 years approximately, this means that you can de-stress of the studies almost 2 years before!  

If we talking about buildings and infrastructure, I think that our faculty is sufficiently equipped, with correct spaces for our activities but the labs, maybe could be a little big bigger because we are a lot of students and sometimes the tables are not enough for all or simply the explanation of our teacher it is confused with the explanation of the other teacher of another class.

I don´t know a lot of the technology used in this faculty so I can´t talk a lot in this topic, but I am satisfied with the tech that I have used, either the "TUI" or the labs materials.

In the case of the teacher and teaching methods I feel so comfortable because they give you the time to understand the matter and the units of each subject and Also my teacher make us feel in an atmosphere of confidence during class.

In my opinion...

What is your opinion about women in the military?

I believe that women in the armed forces are a big advance in our life, because this represent to a large degree the inclusion. Also the society can see that women are not very different from men in terms of skills, they can show that they are strong, responsible and smart too.

What is you opinion about buying instead of adopting pets?

I am totally disagree about buying pets, I think that we should adopt pets, because in this way we can help to beings in danger, without love and maybe scared. Also we can contribute with the society, making that the streets are not full of stray dogs.

What is your opinion about climate changes?

I think that we should be careful about our planet and about the world that surrounds us, because just doing that, we maybe can control and fix the disaster that we have. The climate change is very dangerous because makes our air and atmosphere more toxic, destroys our oceans and in the long it ruins our lives an the lives of our next generations.

What is your opinion about recycling?

I think that this method help a lot to fix our planet from the global warming and with this the climate changes, besides, maybe we can save money if we use the same things and also we can help to the people that lives of the money that the recollect selling waste like cartons or paper.

The auditory system and its great protagonist: The ear...

The human body, our body have a lot of organs and systems that in a set can make of a us the thing that we are now; organisms with intelligence, with the ability of feel, look, talk or listen. Now, I am gonna to focus in the listening part, because I think that the ear is a very important part of us.

This organ, the ear, is the most important part of the auditory system, with this we have the amazing possibility of listen to the other people, people that make us feel special, listen what they really want to say to us, either love words, or experiences, or math, science, history... also we can listen our favorites songs, that songs that we enjoy and keep us relax and happy.

In addition to all of the things that I said before, the ear have the power of control  our balance, keep us standing and without dizziness all the day (thanks God).

Now I´m going to tell some scientific things about our awesome organ.

It´s located in our head, one in our right side and other in our left side, Its size varies between 55 and 65 mm in height and 30 to 45 mm in width.

Some illnesses that can alter the correct work of our auditory system can be vertigo, tinnitus, vestibular neuritis, Ménière´s disease, etc

We can help to keep our ears healthy keeping down the volume of the television, radio and sound equipment in general, also be careful when colds, flu or infections occur, and above all, visit your specialist doctor when yo notice any discomfort in your ear and avoid self-medication.

As a conclusion we have to be grateful for the chance that we have to be able to listen to the world that surrounds us.

Post Graduate studies...

I would like to start saying that before all, I want to finish this semester in the university and then end the career in the years that correspond. After all of this, maybe I could think about what I am gonna to do. For now, thinking fast, maybe I will study a Master degree because that is the start to go to the PhD degree. I want the Master because this can help to keep me updated about the new medicines, the new reactions of the organism in front of this medicines, the new technology that can exist, in general what happens with the people that use our medicine and treatments and above all, this degree can help to my curriculum.

I don´t know yet what subject or subjects I would like to study in my future, but the only things that I want is choose the best option to me, something that makes me happy in my life.

I would like to study in Spain, because the education there is very good in post grades. The technology is modern than in Chile and that help a lot. Also I think that know new cultures can help a lot too to our mind and thoughts.

Continues with that I think that I want to study a part time course, because this let me time for me, to be with my family, chill out with friends, work in my profession, have a job and obviously study what I want without a lot of stress (I think).

After all, I want to work in the forensic laboratory of the PDI (investigation police) because to me this is very interesting and I like the issue of the armed forces and order.

My future job...

I am studying to be a pharmaceutical chemist, and I am thinking to do my major in the clinical area because you can help to the people with new drugs to cure and avert their problems and illness. Also, in this part, you can get contact with the patients and their family and you can give them support to face up to their sickness.

I think I prefer indoors jobs, because I feel more comfortable being in an office than in the ground.

I really want to travel a lot in my work, because I love new places and new cultures, also we can learn more about our job and maybe we can do the same things and use the same method that works in other countries.

If we think in the salary, I hope have the enough money to live relax  and as possible carelessness. I don´t want to be millionaire just have to live good.

My dreamed job is be part of the Chilean Air Force, but I like a lot the things that we have to do like pharmaceutical chemists. I imagine the future and I can see me like an owner of a pharmacy and having successful in this project.

If the pharmacy don´t results. I want to work in the FACH hospital like a pharmaceutical chemist and can help to the people and the hospital for a better attention to the patients.

Music in my life...

All of us like the music, one to do sports, another to study or simply because you enjoy the elements of the songs that you like and listen. In my case, I use the music for everything because gives to me the energy to do my daily routine.

The music is very important in my life because I can control my mood with it. For example, when I am sad or tired I just have to listen a little bit of rock and all the energies return to me again or when I can sleep I listen to relax music, with the sound of the sea and the wind.

I listen to pop music a lot part of the time, basically the music of the moment, and which are sounds on the radio. Also I like alternative rock or pop-punk music too. 

My favourites bands of pop-punk music are Sleeping With Sirens, Black Veil Brides and Pierce The Veil.

I like a lot the guitar, the harp and the piano, but I play none of them because it is very difficult to me play the instruments. I wish play the guitar someday because I want to sing my favourites songs in acoustic version.

When I was younger I used to listen to classical music like Mozart, but now I don´t like it a lot and I only use this music to study. I really like the music of The Sound Of Music film, is so energical and peaceful. Also I like the songs of The Bourne Identity because the rhythm go on with the movie.

As a conclusion I can say that the music is very important in the life of all of us, because this make us happy and better persons.

My favourite film and book...

All the people love the movies, some like thrillers one and another like action ones. In my case, I really love action and science fiction films, especially if the actor is Matt Damon, Jason Statham or Mark Wahlberg. I really really love them<3. Saying that, I can say that my favourite film is "Parker", the main character of this film is my lovely Jason Statham and Jennifer López, this movie is about thieves that stolen the money of an attraction park of a festival, but the group betray Parker, so he revenge this act and attack to the member of the group for recover the lost money.
I think that I saw this film for the first time four years ago, and simply I love the movie. Obviously I recommend this film because the actor is very nice, the plot catch you all the time and the final is really great.

In comparation with the films, I don´t like action books, actually I like books about love but with no more than 200 pages. With this in mind I founded a book which name is "Pulsaciones" and had all that I like in a book. The author of this is Francesc Miralles and Javier Ruescas, spanish authors, this book is about a girl who had an accident and lost her memories of the last three days, but someday a man chat her by "Heartsbit", a chat app, and he knows all about her but she don´t know who is the man of the chat. Finally she gets better, she gets her memory back and she finds the love in the mysterious boy. I read this wonderful book two years ago and definitely I recommend this because is so easy the lecture, the form that is written is so original and you can feel it like the protagonist or like another character of the history.

The best holidays...

Nalcas

Some time ago, I think two or three years ago, with my family went on holidays to the south of Chile, specifically Southern Way (Carretera Austral), the road isn´t good but I loved because there was a lot of "Nalcas", we stayed there in Coyhaique seven days with a couple of friends that we met in Spain. Definitely we spend a very good time, with people that we love and who loves us.

Marble Caverns

The first and the second day we knew the city, the touristic attractions of the this, the centre, the craft fairs and the statues.

And then, at the fourth day we travelled four hours to Marble Caverns on General Carrera Lake, there we took a boat, and the tour guide show and told us the history of this wonder of our country.                       



When we were returning to Santiago we passed to Puerto Varas to swim in the lake, this day was fantastic, the weather was so hot and the water was cold, this was the perfect combination. 

As a conclusion I can say that this holidays were wonderful because we spend time with our loved ones, and this is the most important thing in the life and you can keep fantastic memories with all the people that you love.

A country I would like to visit...

Well, I am here again, now I am going to talk about a country I would like to visit.
Now, with the technological advances is more easy to travel around the world and know new cities, new cultures, new people and make our dreams true. For example, Who don´t want to travel to some strange or exotic country?

The great wall, China

In my case I want to go to China, exactly to the great wall, because I think that is amazing the structure and the large of this wall. This wonder, was built to protect of the Mongolians attacks in  the north frontier of the Chinese Empire and have more than 7000 km of large. Definitely this is a place with a lot of secrets and histories that worth knowing.

Machu Picchu, Perú

Also I´d like to go to Machu Picchu, in Perú, because I love the landscape of the heights and the ancient structures with the firmness of this. This place is a 15th-century Inca citadel situated on a mountain ridge 2430 metres above sea level. So high!!! and that´s why I really want to know more about the life of the people who lived there, their style of life. Machu Picchu in 2007 was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Fantastic!

About me...

Well, I´m going to tell you somethings about me, because this is my blog and you have to know me a little bit. My name is Catalina Villegas, I am 18 years old, I have two sisters younger than me, Monserrat and Mayra, they are 13 and 10 years old. I live with my parents, David and Marissella, they and my sisters are a fundamental pillar in my life and I wouldn´t know what to do without them.

I studied in Arturo Toro Amor school all my life and now I am studing in the university (Universidad de Chile). For the moment, I love the atmosphere of this faculty, the people are very nice and I pass good times with all my friends. Obviously I hope this goes on trought all the carreer
